# Migrating from the SimplyPrint Bambu Lab client to the new SimplyPrint Client

| In a upcoming release, a OTA update will be made available to automate this process once the new client has proven itself in the field.

This guide is intended for users of our old SimplyPrint Bambu Client

## Why would I want to switch to the new SimplyPrint Client?

You typically want to switch because of:

* New features: Light control, fan control and more.
* New printers: A2L, Elegoo Centauri Carbon etc.
* New awesome UI :)  

You might want to hold-off until the automatic update becomes available if:

* You have a production setup that needs to run 24/7
* You only run Bambu Lab printers

## How do i switch to the new SimplyPrint Client?

Switching to the new client is easy, and will take two steps:

1. Turn off (and optionally uninstall) the old SimplyPrint Bambu Lab Client

The following sections will explain how to run through step 1. per platform.

### Uninstalling old SimplyPrint Bambu Lab client on Windows

1. Find SimplyPrint Bambu Lab in WIndows Menu
2. Right-click and select "Uninstall", go through with uninstaller.

### Uninstalling old SimplyPrint Bambu Lab client on Linux

1. On the Linux machine, get/open a terminal instance.
2. Run `sudo systemctl disable --now simplyprint-bambu-lab`
3. Optional: Remove /opt/simplyprint-bambu-lab and /etc/systemd/system/simplyprint-bambu-lab.service

### Uninstalling old SimplyPrint Bambu Lab client on a Raspberry Pi

If you have SSH access, follow the [linux instructions above.](#3-uninstalling-old-simplyprint-bambu-lab-client-on-linux)

If you do not:

2. Reflash Raspberry Pi by i[nstalling new client!](https://simplyprint.io/setup-guide/methods/simplyprint-client)

### Uninstalling old SimplyPrint Bambu Lab client on MacOS

1. Open up a Terminal
2. Run `launchctl stop com.simplyprint.bambulab` 
3. Run `launchctl unload com.simplyprint.bambulab` 
4. Optional: Delete /Applications/SimplyPrint Bambu Lab
