# The Blender SimplyPrint integration - how to set up and use

# What is the Blender SimplyPrint integration?
The Blender SimplyPrint integration allows you to **export 3D models directly from Blender to SimplyPrint**, making it easy to go from modeling to printing in just a few clicks.

* Export `.STL`, `.OBJ`, or `.3MF` files directly to SimplyPrint
* Choose whether to **start a print **on one or multiple 3D printers-
* Or **queue** the print-
* Or **save** the file to your SimplyPrint cloud storage.

# How to set up SimplyPrint support in Blender

### Step 1 - Download the addon
Download the addon from [here](https://cdn.simplyprint.io/i/static/integrations/blender/simplyprint.zip) or go to https://simplyprint.io/integrations/blender and click the **Download** button

### Step 2 - Install the addon inside Blender

1. Open Blender
2. Go to **Edit → Preferences → Add-ons**
3. Select **Install from Disk...** in the top-right dropdown
4. Find and select your downloaded file
5. Enable it in the list of addons if it's not automatically enabled

### Step 3 - Log into SimplyPrint

1. Open the SimplyPrint panel (right sidebar, `N` key)
2. Click **Log In**
3. A browser window will open
4. Authorize the addon by clicking **Allow** in the bottom-right
5. Close the tab and return to Blender, you should now be connected

# Using SimplyPrint in Blender
SimplyPrint currently has two main ways to interact with it from Blender.

### Exporting from the SimplyPrint side panel
Blender's side panel you can find the SimplyPrint tab where you can:

1. See your login status
2. Configure your export format and whether you want to apply model modifiers before export
3. Filter which objects to export
4. And send to SimplyPrint! 

### Sending to SimplyPrint from the export menu
the top left of Blender under **File→Export→SimplyPrint** you can find a modal which allows you to export directly to SimplyPrint inside of there you can:

1. See your login status
2. Configure your export format and whether you want to apply model modifiers before export
3. Filter which objects to export
4. And send to SimplyPrint! 

### After sending to SimplyPrint
After exporting to SimplyPrint a browser window will open which will allow you to save your model, slice it, or add it to a queue.

# Removing the SimplyPrint addon from Blender
To remove the SimplyPrint addon from Blender you need to do 2 things:

### Step 1 - Clear your local SimplyPrint data.

1. Go to **Edit → Preferences → Add-ons**
2. Find and collapse **SimplyPrint** in the list by clicking on the arrow to the left
3. Scroll to the bottom
4. Click the **Clear Local SimplyPrint Data** button

### Step 2 - Uninstall the SimplyPrint Add-on

1. Go to the **Get Extensions** tab
2. Click the **dropdown** on the right
3. Click the **Uninstall button**
