Filament deals in SimplyPrint: where they come from and how they are chosen

The Deals card in the Filament Shop collects money off filament and printers in one place: SimplyPrint's own discount codes, and the live vouchers and promotions of the 3D printing shops we work with. This article explains where each deal comes from, which ones you see and in what order, how to use a code, and how to hide deals you do not want.

Some deal links are affiliate links: SimplyPrint may earn a commission when you buy, at no extra cost to you. A deal's price and code are the shop's own, and work the same as anywhere else.

Where to find deals

Open Filament > Shop in the sidebar. The Deals card sits below "Running low" and "Suggested for you".

Each deal shows the shop's logo and name, what the deal is, its code if it has one, and when it ends ("No end date" for our own discounts). A badge says You stock [brand] when it is a brand from your inventory.

Where deals come from

There are two kinds of deal:

  • Our own discounts: brands that give SimplyPrint users a discount when they arrive through our link. They are marked Through SimplyPrint and have no end date. For example, SUNLU gives 3% off with the code SIMPLYPRINT.
  • Shop deals: vouchers, sales and promotions that 3D printing shops publish through the affiliate networks we work with, for the shops whose programs we are part of. SimplyPrint fetches them every hour, so a new deal shows up within the hour and an ended one disappears.

No one at SimplyPrint picks or writes the shop deals by hand: the text, the code and the end date are the shop's own. That is also why a deal's wording may read like an advert.

Which deals you see

Shops publish many deals that would not help you, so the Shop filters them:

  • Your country's deals. When a deal says which country's store it is for, it only shows there: a coupon for Creality's French store does not show to an account in Denmark. The Shop uses your account's country, or where you are when the account has none.
  • 3D printing shops only. The networks also carry unrelated brands, and those never show.
  • Real offers only. A deal needs a code, a discount or a sale. Free shipping on its own is left out, as are product announcements with nothing off.
  • Working pages only. Every deal's page is checked once a day, and a deal whose page the shop has taken down (it answers "not found") is hidden, so a click should not land on a missing page.
  • Each code once, two per shop. A shop that lists the same code twice, or thirty coupons for different spends, shows its two best.
  • Up to 12 deals at a time, our own discounts included.

The order of the deals

Our own discounts come first. The shop deals follow in this order:

  1. Brands you stock in your filament inventory.
  2. Brands you starred, and the printer makers you print on (or, before you add a printer, picked when you signed up).
  3. Filament deals before printer deals.
  4. The bigger percentage off first.

Using a deal or a code

Click Get the deal (or Shop [brand] for our own discounts) to open the shop. Then:

  • A deal with a code: copy the code from the card and enter it at checkout. Check the deal's own terms, as many codes need a minimum spend or only cover some products.
  • Our own discounts: the code is applied when you arrive through our link. If the shop asks for it, it is shown on the card.
  • A sale without a code: the price is already reduced on the shop's page.

The end date is shown as your own day, and a deal disappears from the Shop once it ends.

Our discount codes on filament cards

Filament cards across the Shop (Suggested for you and Browse filament) carry a green badge like Save 3% · SIMPLYPRINT when the brand's own shop sells that filament and gives SimplyPrint users a discount. Buy at that shop through the card (it is in the card's list of shops, marked with the code), and the code is applied for you. At other shops that sell the brand the code does not apply.

Hiding a deal, or a whole brand

Click the × in the corner of a deal. The Shop asks how far to go:

  • Hide this deal: only this deal disappears.
  • Not interested in [brand]: no deals or filament suggestions from that brand any more. Browse filament still finds the brand when you choose it.

Everything you hid is listed under Settings > Filament > Shop, where you can show it again. Hiding applies to your whole account.

New deals by email

Click Email me new deals at the top of the Deals card, and choose My starred brands or All brands. You can also set it under Settings > Filament > Shop.

  • You get an email at most once a week, and only when there are new deals since the last one. A week without new deals sends nothing.
  • The email picks deals the way the Deals card does: for your country, without the brands you are not interested in or the deals you hid.
  • It is your own setting, not the account's: everyone on the account chooses for themselves.
  • Every email has a link to change the setting and a one-click unsubscribe. Clicking Deal emails on on the Deals card turns it off too.

Shop banners

Below the deals there may be a shop's own banner image. SimplyPrint shows it from its own servers, so your browser never contacts the shop or the network until you click it. Hiding a brand hides its banners too.

Who can hide deals

Anyone who can use the Filament Shop (the View filament system and Use the filament shop permissions) sees the deals. Hiding deals and brands changes the Shop for everyone on the account, so it needs the filament settings permission as well.
