The "Reprint" / "Print again" feature
In this article we'll cover the "Reprint" feature in SimplyPrint, how it works, when it works, and frequently asked questions.
The reprint feature allows you to instantly, or after a while, print the same file again; no matter whether the file has been saved to "Your files" or the print queue, or it may be a finished print queue item.
The reprint button can be accessed a couple of ways;
When a print is finished, in the "Print removed?" / Bed-clearing popup. If the print is reprint-eligible, there will be a button between the "Cancel" and "Clear" buttons in the bottom of the popup, saying "Reprint". If the item was printed via the queue, it'll show the would-be [item count] / [total]. It will let you print more than the total queue count when using this feature, so be vigilant as to ensure you don't print too much
Via the Print History page (table): reprint-eligible jobs will be reprintable by clicking the "..." button in the right side of each table row, allowing you to select a printer to print the file on. Here you can also download the file.
Via the Job View page (when clicking on a job in the history). Here you can also download the file.
Jobs can be reprinted as long as we still have the file on our servers. Depending on how you started the print, how long we store the file varies.
Queued jobs: for jobs that are still in the print queue with a quantity left above 0, the file stays on our server, and will always be reprintable. However, when the queue job is finished and it moves to the "Done jobs" section in the print queue, the file will be deleted after 3 days to save space on your account. Once the file is deleted, it will no longer be reprintable.
User files ("Your Files"): files stored in your file system will always be reprintable as long as they still exist. When you delete a file, all print jobs that were printed from this file, will no longer be reprintable
One-off, not saved, prints: when you print something without saving it, we store the file for 3 days after the print finishes. That means during the print, and ~3 days after, you'll be able to reprint, as the file still exists on our servers
Note that auto-deletion of files may vary, and may sometimes be closer to 4 or closer to 2 days, depending on when the print was started.
