Bambu Lab client setup troubleshooting guide
Bambu Lab Client Setup Troubleshooting Guide
If you're having issues setting up the SimplyPrint Bambu Lab Client, this guide will help you troubleshoot common problems. Before proceeding, we strongly recommend carefully going through the setup process again, as that often resolves many issues. If you still experience problems, follow the steps below.
This guide requires you to have followed the initial setup guide; https://simplyprint.io/setup-guide#bambu:1.
Running the Bambu Lab client on MacOS? Make sure you have allowed the SimplyPrint Bambu Lab Client to run in the background: https://help.simplyprint.io/en/article/bambu-lab-client-macos-setup-allow-open-on-startup-run-in-background-f9qd9e/
1. Accessing the SimplyPrint Bambu Lab Client
The SimplyPrint Bambu Lab Client runs on your device's IP address at port 8000. To access it:
Open a browser on your own computer (not the device running the client, unless they are the same).
If the client is running on the same computer you're using, enter:
http://localhost:8000
If the client is running on another device (e.g., Raspberry Pi, Linux, or another PC), enter:
http://device-ip:8000
Important: Replace device-ip with the actual IP address of the device. Example:
http://192.168.1.100:8000
If this doesn't work, and you use MacOS to host the client, make sure you have followed this guide; https://help.simplyprint.io/en/article/bambu-lab-client-macos-setup-allow-open-on-startup-run-in-background-f9qd9e/
Finding the IP Address of Your Device
If you're using a Raspberry Pi, follow this guide: Find the IP of Your Raspberry Pi
Ensure your computer is on the same network as the device running the Bambu Lab Client.
The Client Doesn't Open on Port 8000?
Sometimes, port 8000 may already be in use by another application. In that case, the client automatically moves to port 8001, 8002, etc.
Try accessing the client at:
http://device-ip:8001
http://device-ip:8002
Windows and Mac Users
If you're using Windows or Mac, click or double-click the SimplyPrint icon in the system tray/menu bar. This will open the client in your browser with the correct IP and port.
Windows Security Warning During Installation

As with all software from the internet, remain vigilant. The SimplyPrint Bambu Lab Client does not include any tracking beyond what is necessary to connect your printers to the cloud, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
If All Else Fails
If you still can't access the SimplyPrint Bambu Lab Client, try these steps:
Restart the device running the client – sometimes a simple restart can resolve the issue.
Reinstall the SimplyPrint Bambu Lab Client – download and run the installer again.
Try installing the client on another device – if your current device runs other applications that may interfere, using a dedicated device can improve stability and performance.
If none of these steps work, try setting up the client again and ensure your device has a stable internet connection.
2. Printer Detection Issues
If the SimplyPrint Client is running but your printers are not detected, follow these steps:
Check Network Connection
The device running the SimplyPrint Bambu Lab Client must be on the same network as your Bambu Lab printers.
Ensure your printers are not isolated on a separate VLAN or guest network.
Cloud Mode Users
If your printer is in Cloud mode, you need to log in to your Bambu Lab account via the SimplyPrint Client.
LAN Mode Printers
If your printer is in LAN mode and is not detected, check if it is accessible through Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer.
In the SimplyPrint Bambu Lab Client, try adding the printer manually instead of using auto-discovery.
Double-check the serial number and access code when adding the printer manually.
If the access code is not working, try rolling over or regenerating the access code on the printer.
Restart the printer by turning it off for at least one minute, then turning it back on.
