Bed type doesn't match: why a printer won't take your queue item

A free printer is skipping your queue item, and the reason shown is a bed type mismatch. This is a quick fix.

What this means

SimplyPrint uses tags to route the right files to the right printers - so a job only runs on a printer that can actually print it correctly, and you don't waste time and filament printing something on the wrong setup. A file or queue item can be tagged with details like its material, color, nozzle size and bed type, and SimplyPrint also checks things like whether the model fits and whether the printer can run the file. When a printer doesn't meet one of the item's requirements, the two won't match, and the item won't start on that printer.

Here, the item is tagged for a specific build plate (for example textured PEI, smooth PEI or a cool plate), but the printer has a different plate fitted. The plate affects adhesion and finish, so SimplyPrint treats it as a real requirement.

How to fix it

  • Fit the plate the item needs, and set the matching bed type on that printer in SimplyPrint.
  • If two plates are interchangeable for you, group them as equivalent under Settings > Tagging (bed type matching / clusters) so either one counts.
  • Or relax the item's bed type tag if any plate will do.
