Guided slicer Print step: apply settings, slice, and download

The Print step turns the accepted Guided setup into a sliced file. One button applies the selected recommendations and starts slicing, then the normal SimplyPrint output actions let you save, download, queue, or print the result when those actions are available to you.

Before you continue

Review the verdict and every selected recommendation in Check. A printer and compatible machine, filament, and print profile must be ready before the slice can start.


Guided slicer verifies that the model geometry and printer setup still match the completed check. If you moved the model, changed printer, switched engines, or selected another profile, return to Check and run it again.


The Print step also shows your remaining cloud-slicing allowance. This is the ordinary slice-job quota, not the separate AI print-check allowance.


Use the suggested settings

Choose Use these settings and slice. Guided slicer first applies the rows that remained accepted, including any teacher-locked rows, and then starts the slice automatically.


A successful Use these settings and slice action starts slicing without another click. If slicing fails after the settings were applied, Slice my model lets you retry. If applying a required setting fails, slicing does not begin and the panel explains the unavailable setting so you can change the setup or ask the organization administrator.


The same recommendation cannot be applied repeatedly. This is especially important for scaling, because applying a 50% scale twice would otherwise reduce a part to 25% of its original size.


What Guided slicer changes

The completion panel lists the settings used for the slice. Depending on the result, this can include the print profile, material, infill, supports, orientation, scale, bed adhesion, wall count, layer height, or infill pattern.


Guided slicer uses semantic settings instead of writing arbitrary engine configuration. The values are mapped to the chosen engine's real options and validated again when applied.


Teacher locks use a trusted policy path. Ordinary optional changes still honor the user's slicer permissions and the rank's enabled or disabled setting list.


Start the slice

The slice uses the engine, version, printer profile, filament profile, and print profile shown in the slicer. Cloud providers send the job to SimplyPrint's slicing service. A browser-local provider can generate the result on the current device when available.


Progress remains in the Print step while the job runs. Navigation is locked during apply and slicing so a second check or changed setup cannot race with the active job.


When slicing completes, the G-code analysis and output actions appear. If the engine reports an error, use the message shown in the panel and review the active profiles before trying again.


Understand slicing allowances

Free and Filament Manager plans include a limited number of cloud slice jobs each month. Plans with unlimited slicing do not show a remaining monthly count.


The allowance is checked before the Guided slice starts. If none remain, the action is blocked and eligible account administrators can follow the upgrade path. Local model checking remains available even when the slice quota is empty.

Download or save without a connected printer

You do not need a connected printer to use Guided slicer. A machine profile can describe the target printer while the account remains slicer-only.


After a successful slice, Download file saves the generated G-code to your device. Save file stores it in My Files so you can use it again later.


When there is no connected print target, Guided slicer presents download and save as the natural ending instead of requiring you to add a physical printer.


Print or queue with a connected printer

When a compatible connected printer is available and your rank can print, use the normal print action to select the target and start or schedule the print.


Accounts with Print Queue access and the matching queue permission can add the sliced result to the queue. Data-only or virtual printers can be used for profile selection but are excluded from physical print-target choices.


Always review the G-code preview and the printer state before starting a remote print. Guided recommendations improve setup, but they do not replace normal printer checks.


Go back or use Expert mode

Before applying, use Back to change the accepted rows or return to Pick. A changed setup requires a new check.


Choose Expert mode when you need per-object overrides, paint tools, a custom profile edit, or a setting that is intentionally outside Guided's basic recommendation set. The model remains in the same slicer project.


After slicing, you can stay in the result view to download or print, or start another slicer project through the available completion actions.
