How to use multiple plates in the Cloud Slicer

Multiple plates let you prepare several build plates in one Cloud Slicer workspace. Each plate can hold its own objects, and the active plate is the one you arrange and slice.

Add a plate

Click Add plate in the top toolbar.

The Cloud Slicer supports up to 32 plates in one workspace. When the maximum is reached, the Add plate button is disabled.

Switch the active plate

Click a plate in the workspace or select it in the Objects list.

The active plate is highlighted. Tools such as auto-arrange and slicing use the active plate.

Move objects between plates

Move an object onto another plate in the workspace. The slicer assigns the object to the plate it is physically on.

You can confirm the assignment in the Objects list, where objects are grouped under their plate.

Rename a plate

In the Objects list, double-click the plate name to rename it.

Plate names can help when you are preparing several batches, colors, or versions of the same job.

Delete a plate

Use the plate delete action in the workspace when multiple plates are visible.

If a plate is deleted, the remaining plates are repositioned. Check the Objects list afterward to make sure your models are still assigned where you expect.

Lock a plate

Use the plate lock action to lock or unlock the lockable objects on that plate.

This helps when a plate is ready and you want to keep arranging models on another plate without accidentally changing the finished one.

Auto-arrange a plate

When multiple plates are active, Arrange objects arranges objects on the active plate.

To arrange another plate, switch to it first, then click Arrange objects.

Slice the active plate

The Slice button slices the active plate.

If the active plate has no objects, slicing is disabled or the slicer will show that there are no objects on the active plate to slice.

After slicing one plate, switch to another plate and slice it separately.

Importing files with multiple plates

Some 3MF files can contain multiple plates. When supported project data is present, the Cloud Slicer can use that plate information during import.

If the imported file does not preserve the setup you expected, check the source slicer project and try exporting the 3MF again.
