How to download, queue, direct print, or multi-print sliced output

After slicing, you can decide what to do with the generated output file. This article explains the post-slice actions in the Cloud Slicer and when each one appears.

Cloud Slicer output action buttons after slicing

Download

Use Download when you want the generated file on your device.

Download is useful if you want to:

  • Move the file to removable storage
  • Print outside SimplyPrint
  • Keep a local copy
  • Send the file through another workflow

The browser downloads the generated output file from the completed slice.

Save

Use Save to upload the generated file to your SimplyPrint files.

SimplyPrint lets you choose the folder and file name. Once saved, the file can be used later from the files area.

Queue

Use Queue to add the sliced output to the print queue.

The queue action appears when the slicer has a generated file and your account can use the queue action from the slicer. The print queue itself is a separate SimplyPrint feature, so queue availability can depend on your plan, role, and account setup.

Replace a queue item

If the slicer was opened from an existing queue file, the queue menu may offer Replace queue item.

Use this when you are re-slicing a queued model and want the queue item to use the new sliced output instead of adding a separate queue item.

Print on the selected printer

Use Print to start the sliced file on the selected printer.

If the selected printer is ready and available, SimplyPrint can start the print on that printer.

Multi-print

The print action can open multi-print when SimplyPrint needs a printer selection flow instead of starting directly on one ready printer.

This can happen when:

  • You selected a printer model rather than a specific connected printer
  • The selected printer is not ready for direct start
  • You choose the multi-print option from the print menu

Multi-print lets you choose where to send the sliced output.

If you have no connected printers

If the slicer does not have connected printers available, you can still save or download the sliced file. The slicer may also show a How to print action with guidance for printing the file through another SimplyPrint workflow.

Permission and plan notes

Some actions depend on account features and user role permissions.

  • Download uses the generated file in your browser
  • Save uses SimplyPrint files
  • Queue uses the print queue workflow
  • Direct print and multi-print require print access

If an action is missing, check your plan, role permissions, printer connection, and whether the slice completed successfully.
