Not getting print notifications? How to fix it
If SimplyPrint isn't telling you when prints finish or fail, the cause is almost always a setting on the Notifications tab or a delivery issue on the receiving end. Work through the checks below in order and you'll find it.
All of the panel settings mentioned here live in User settings, on the Notifications tab (simplyprint.io/panel/user_settings/notifications).
1. Check your preferred channel isn't set to "No notification"
This is the most common cause. Under Preferred notification, make sure you've selected Email, SMS, or App, not No notification. If it's set to No notification, nothing is sent regardless of your other settings.

2. Check the right events are turned on
Under Receive notification when, confirm the events you expect are ticked. If you want to know when a print fails but only Print finished is checked, you won't get the failure alert. Tick the events you care about (Print finished, Print failed, Filament runout, and so on) and click Save.
3. Confirm your notification email or phone number is filled in and correct
The notification email and phone fields are at the top of the Notifications tab.
- For email: make sure the Notification email field has the address you actually check. It can differ from your login email, so double-check it's the right inbox.
- For SMS: make sure the Notification phone number has the correct country and number.
A typo here means notifications are sent into the void. Fix it, then Save.
4. Email notifications: check spam and filters
If your channel is email but messages aren't arriving:
- Look in your spam or junk folder.
- Add notifications from SimplyPrint to your safe-senders / contacts so future ones land in your inbox.
- If you use a work or school email, a mail filter or your IT department may be blocking external mail. Try a personal email address in the notification email field to confirm.
5. SMS notifications: confirm you're on the right plan
SMS notifications are part of the Pro plan and higher. On Free and Basic you can still select SMS, but no texts will be sent.If you've selected SMS but no texts arrive, check your plan. If you're on Free or Basic and need SMS, switch your preferred channel to email or app push, both of which work on every plan.
6. App push: check the app and your device permissions
If your channel is App push but nothing comes through:
- Make sure you're signed in to the SimplyPrint mobile app on the device you expect notifications on.
- Check that notifications are allowed for SimplyPrint in your phone's system settings (iOS Settings or Android app settings). If push permission was denied when you first opened the app, you'll need to enable it there.
- Make sure your phone isn't in a Do Not Disturb / Focus mode that silences app notifications.
See Push notifications in the SimplyPrint app for the full setup.
7. Remember to save
Changes on the Notifications tab only take effect after you click Save. If you changed a setting and navigated away without saving, the change didn't stick. Reopen the tab and confirm your settings look right.
8. Discord, Slack, or Teams not posting?
Webhook notifications to chat apps are a separate system from your personal channels. If a Discord or Slack channel stopped getting messages:
- Confirm the webhook is still enabled in Settings > Webhooks (it can be toggled off).
- Confirm the webhook still subscribes to the event you're expecting.
- Confirm the webhook still exists on the chat-app side (someone may have deleted it in Discord or Slack).
See Send SimplyPrint notifications to Discord with a webhook for the full troubleshooting steps.
