Print notifications: get alerted by email, SMS, or app push
Print notifications: get alerted by email, SMS, or app push
SimplyPrint can tell you the moment a print finishes, fails, or pauses, so you don't have to keep the panel open and watch. This guide covers your personal notification settings: the events you can be alerted on, the channels SimplyPrint can reach you through (email, SMS, and app push), and how to pick your preferred channel.
These are your personal notification settings, set per user. Everyone on your account chooses their own. They are separate from the printer notification bell in the panel, which is covered in Printer notifications: the in-panel bell.
In this guide
- Where to find your notification settings
- Choose which print events notify you
- Notification channels: email, SMS, and app push
- Set your preferred channel
- Notification email and phone number
- Email subscription preferences
- Channel availability by plan
Where to find your notification settings
Your notification settings live on your personal account page, not in the account-wide settings.
- Click your profile in the top right, then open User settings.
- Open the Notifications tab.
You can also go straight there at simplyprint.io/panel/user_settings/notifications.

Choose which print events notify you
Under Receive notification when, tick the print events you want to hear about. Each one is an independent toggle, so you can be told about failures only, or about everything.
Event | When it fires |
|---|---|
Print finished | A print completes successfully |
Print failed | A print fails (for example, the printer reports an error) |
Print cancelled | A print is stopped before it finishes |
Print started | A new print begins |
Print paused | A print is paused |
Print resumed | A paused print is resumed |
Filament runout | The filament sensor pauses the print because it ran out of filament |
These toggles control which events notify you. The channel those notifications arrive on is set separately, just below.
Notification channels: email, SMS, and app push
SimplyPrint can reach you on three channels:
- Email - sent to your notification email address.
- SMS - a text message to your notification phone number.
- App push - a push notification on your phone through the SimplyPrint mobile app (iOS and Android).
You pick one of these as your preferred channel. SimplyPrint then uses that channel for the print events you turned on above.
Set your preferred channel
Under Preferred notification, choose how you want to be reached:
- No notification - turn print notifications off entirely.
- Email - notifications go to your notification email.
- SMS - notifications are texted to your notification phone number.
- App push - notifications are pushed to the SimplyPrint mobile app.

After changing anything on this tab, click Save.
Notification email and phone number
The fields at the top of the tab control where notifications are delivered:
- Notification email - the email address that receives email notifications. This can be different from your login email, which is handy if you want print alerts to go to a shared or work inbox.
- Notification phone number - the number that receives SMS notifications. Pick your country, then enter the number.
If you choose App push as your preferred channel, you don't need either field filled in. Push goes to the SimplyPrint app on your phone instead. See Push notifications in the SimplyPrint app for how to enable push on your device.
Email subscription preferences
The right side of the Notifications tab also controls which non-print emails SimplyPrint sends you, such as new feature announcements, newsletters, tips, offers, and personal milestones. Untick anything you'd rather not receive, or use Unsubscribe from all to clear them in one click.
Note that print notification emails are a separate, always-on category. They follow the event toggles and preferred channel above, not these subscription checkboxes.
