The AutoClear clearing method for AutoPrint

The AutoClear clearing method for AutoPrint

AutoClear is an automatic print-removal system for the Bambu Lab X1C and P1S. It opens the printer door, helps the part cool, then pushes it off the bed, so SimplyPrint can start the next print on its own. There is no plate to swap and no stack to refill. This guide covers what it does and how to select it as your AutoPrint clearing method.

AutoClear runs as a clearing method inside AutoPrint, which is part of the Pro plan and up.

What AutoClear is

AutoClear (the AutoClear One) is a mod for the Bambu Lab X1C and P1S, made by AutoClear. According to AutoClear, when a print finishes it opens the printer's door to help the bed cool, then clears the printed part off the bed by pushing it off. Paired with AutoPrint, that keeps the X1C or P1S printing through your queue around the clock.

Because it clears the bed in place rather than swapping plates, AutoClear can run continuously for as long as there is matching work in the queue.

When the door opens

AutoClear is one of the few methods that runs gcode at two points in the cycle:

  • When the print ends, it opens the printer door and turns on the auxiliary and chamber fans to cool the bed faster, so the part releases more cleanly.
  • When it is time to clear, it pushes the finished part off the bed, then closes the door again ready for the next print.

SimplyPrint runs both sequences for you automatically; there is nothing extra to configure for the door behaviour.

Selecting AutoClear on a printer

You set a clearing method per printer, from the AutoPrint settings.

  1. Open the printer's control panel and find the AutoPrint widget.
  2. Open the AutoPrint settings and find the Clearing method section.
  3. Click the method selector and choose AutoClear.
  4. Save, then flip the AutoPrint switch on for the printer.

You can view the AutoClear gcode under the gcode editor and adjust it if your setup needs it. The default sequence assumes the AutoClear One is installed on your X1C or P1S.

What SimplyPrint does each cycle

With AutoClear selected, each AutoPrint cycle runs like this:

  1. The print finishes and SimplyPrint runs the AutoClear end sequence, opening the door and turning on the fans to cool the bed.
  2. The bed cools to the temperature (or for the time) you set, so the part releases more easily.
  3. SimplyPrint runs the AutoClear clearing sequence, pushing the part off the bed and closing the door.
  4. SimplyPrint verifies the bed is clear. With a camera connected, AI bed check can confirm visually before continuing.
  5. SimplyPrint matches the next queue item and starts it, and the loop repeats.

For how matching, scheduling and verification work in detail, see the AutoPrint overview.
