The FarmLoop clearing method for AutoPrint

The FarmLoop clearing method for AutoPrint

FarmLoop is an automatic print-removal system for Bambu Lab printers, built by 3D Farmers. It clears the finished part off the bed so SimplyPrint can start the next print on its own. This guide explains what FarmLoop does, how to pick it as your AutoPrint clearing method, and what makes it different from every other method in the list.

FarmLoop runs as a clearing method inside AutoPrint, which is part of the Pro plan and up. AutoPrint itself is what keeps the queue flowing; FarmLoop is one way to clear the bed between prints.

The FarmLoop integration is currently in public beta and free to use during the beta. It will become a paid add-on after the beta period ends.

What FarmLoop is

FarmLoop is a hardware mod for the Bambu Lab A, P and X series printers, built by 3D Farmers. When a print finishes, it clears the printed part off the bed automatically, so the printer can pick up the next job without anyone removing the part by hand. Paired with AutoPrint, that turns a Bambu Lab printer into a machine that works through your queue around the clock.

In SimplyPrint, FarmLoop is a push-off style clearing method: when the print is done, SimplyPrint runs the FarmLoop clearing sequence to release and sweep the part off the bed, verifies the bed is clear, and then starts the next matching item from your queue.

Why FarmLoop is different from the other methods

FarmLoop is the only clearing method that SimplyPrint officially maintains in partnership with the hardware vendor. For every other hardware method, the clearing gcode is a starting template you can view and edit. For FarmLoop, SimplyPrint owns the gcode and keeps it up to date with 3D Farmers, so:

  • you do not edit the FarmLoop clearing gcode yourself,
  • the right sequence is selected automatically for your exact Bambu Lab model and FarmLoop stage,
  • and updates from 3D Farmers reach you without you having to paste anything.

This is why FarmLoop shows a dedicated setup card rather than a raw gcode editor. You pick your model and variant; SimplyPrint handles the rest.

Supported printers

FarmLoop works with these Bambu Lab models in SimplyPrint:

  • A1 Mini
  • A1
  • P1P
  • P1S
  • X1C
  • P2S

Each model has its own clearing variant (and, on supported models, a "stage 1" and "stage 2" variant). SimplyPrint matches the variant to the printer for you when you select FarmLoop, so you normally do not need to choose one manually.

Selecting FarmLoop on a printer

You set a clearing method per printer, from the AutoPrint settings.

  1. Open the printer's control panel and find the AutoPrint widget.
  2. Open the AutoPrint settings and look for the Clearing method section.
  3. Click the method selector and choose FarmLoop.
  4. Confirm your printer model and variant in the FarmLoop card, then save.
  5. Flip the AutoPrint switch on for the printer.

That is all SimplyPrint needs. From then on, when a print finishes, SimplyPrint cools the bed, runs the FarmLoop clearing sequence, checks the bed is clear, and starts the next queued print.

Run the full cycle a few times while you watch, before leaving the printer unattended. AutoPrint is genuinely hands-off, so you want to be sure the part clears cleanly every time.

What SimplyPrint does each cycle

With FarmLoop selected, each AutoPrint cycle runs like this:

  1. The print finishes and SimplyPrint detects the completed state.
  2. The bed cools to the temperature (or for the time) you set, so the part releases more easily.
  3. SimplyPrint runs the FarmLoop clearing sequence for your model, which opens the cycle and sweeps the part off the bed.
  4. SimplyPrint verifies the bed is clear. With a camera connected, you can turn on AI bed check so it confirms visually before continuing.
  5. SimplyPrint matches the next item from your queue and starts it.

Connecting your FarmLoop account

During the public beta, FarmLoop is free and no subscription gating applies, so you can select it and run it right away. When the paid phase begins, some advanced variants will require a connected FarmLoop account with the matching subscription, and SimplyPrint will prompt you to connect at that point. For the integration side of FarmLoop (connecting your account, what the subscription covers), see the FarmLoop integration article.

Buying FarmLoop

FarmLoop is sold by 3D Farmers. You can buy the mod from their site, and SimplyPrint shows a discount code in the clearing-method card when FarmLoop is selected. Use that code at checkout on the 3D Farmers store.
