How to copy, edit, save, and reset print profiles
How to copy, edit, save, and reset print profiles
Print profiles control process settings such as layer height, infill, supports, speeds, and other print-quality settings. This guide explains how to work with print profiles in the Cloud Slicer.

Before you start
You need permission to change print profiles before you can select a different one. You need custom profile permission to save your own copies.
If your account uses roles, an admin may also limit which slicer engines, profile sources, or individual settings you can use.
Copy a print profile
Copying is the safest way to make a custom print profile.
- Open Slicer.
- Select the printer, machine profile, filament, and print profile you want to start from.
- Change any print settings you want to reuse.
- Click the save icon.
- If the selected profile cannot be overwritten, Cloud Slicer opens the copy flow instead.
- Give the copy a clear name.
- Create the copy.
Edit a print profile
- Open Slicer.
- Select the print profile.
- Change the print settings in the settings panel.
- Click the save icon.
If the profile is editable by you, the existing profile is updated. If it is not directly editable, the save action opens the copy flow when your permissions allow it.
System and read-only profiles cannot be overwritten. If you have permission to create profiles, the save action opens a copy flow so you can save your changes as a new custom profile.
Reset unsaved changes
If you changed settings but do not want to keep them, use the reset button next to the save button.
The reset action clears current unsaved setting changes. It does not delete the profile, and it is not the same as restoring a profile from account history.
Manage print profiles from settings
You can also manage print profiles from Settings > Slicing > Slicer profiles.
From there, choose the slicer engine and the print profile type. You can search profiles, copy system profiles, import profiles, edit profile metadata, export profile data, and delete custom profiles where your permissions allow it.
Why the save button may be disabled
The save button can be disabled when:
- No setting has changed
- You do not have permission to save profiles
- The profile is owned by another source and cannot be edited directly
- Your account has reached its custom profile limit
