System, custom, user, organization, and partner profiles explained
Cloud Slicer profiles can come from different places. This article explains what each profile source means, who can edit it, and why the same printer can show different profile lists for different users.

What profile sources mean
Profiles are grouped by where they come from.
Profile source | What it means |
|---|---|
System profiles | Built-in profiles supplied by SimplyPrint or the selected slicer engine data |
User profiles | Custom profiles saved by your user |
Organization profiles | Shared profiles available to users in the same account |
Partner profiles | Profiles supplied by a partner-managed setup |
The picker may use slightly different labels depending on the profile type. For example, machine profiles may say User machines, Company machines, Partner machines, and System machines.
System profiles
System profiles are the default profiles shipped with the selected slicer engine data. They are useful starting points and usually should not be edited directly.
If you need to change a system profile, copy it first. The copy becomes your own custom profile, which you can rename, edit, and save.
User profiles
User profiles are custom profiles saved by you. These are private unless you share them as organization profiles.
Use user profiles for personal experiments, printer-specific tweaks, or settings that should not affect the rest of your account.
Organization profiles
Organization profiles are shared with other users in the same account.
You will only see the sharing option if your plan and permissions allow shared slicer profiles. Users without permission to manage organization profiles can usually use shared profiles, but cannot edit or delete them.
Partner profiles
Partner profiles are provided by a partner account or managed setup. They can be viewed and copied, but they are not directly editable by the managed account.
If you need to adjust a partner profile, create a copy and edit the copy.
Why some users see fewer profiles
The profile list depends on the selected engine, printer, machine profile, nozzle, filament, user permissions, and account settings.
For example, a student or restricted user may not be allowed to see system profiles. In that case, they may only see approved organization profiles.
