How to Enable WebGL in Major Browsers
Our slicer uses WebGL to render advanced 2D and 3D graphics in your browser using your computer’s GPU. If you’re encountering WebGL-related errors or performance issues, this guide walks you through enabling WebGL across popular browsers.
Google Chrome (and Chromium-based browsers like Edge)
Steps to Enable WebGL:
- Go to Settings → System (or visit
chrome://settings/system
). - Enable Use hardware acceleration when available, then Relaunch the browser.
- Visit
chrome://flags
, search for WebGL, and enable WebGL Draft Extensions. Relaunch again. - (Optional) Enable Override software rendering list via flags if needed.
- To verify, go to
chrome://gpu
and check if WebGL appears as Hardware accelerated.

Mozilla Firefox
Steps to Enable WebGL:
- Navigate to
about:config
. - Search and verify settings:
webgl.disabled
should be set to false- (Optional) Set
webgl.force-enabled
to true
- (Optional) Start Firefox in Safe Mode to rule out extension conflicts.
- Visit
about:support
and review the Graphics section to check your WebGL status.

Apple Safari (macOS & iOS)
macOS Safari (Desktop):
- Open Preferences → Advanced and check Show Develop menu in menu bar.
- From the Develop menu → Experimental Features, enable WebGL or WebGL 2.0.
- (Optional) In some cases, enable via Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.Safari WebKitPreferences.webGLEnabled 1
Then restart Safari.
iOS Safari (iPhone/iPad):
- Navigate to Settings → Safari → Advanced → Experimental Features → toggle WebGL 2.0 if available.

Steps to Enable WebGL:

) and toggle Use hardware acceleration when available, then relaunch. - Open
