The JobOx clearing method for AutoPrint

The JobOx clearing method for AutoPrint

JobOx is an automatic plate-switching mod that swaps the whole print plate between prints. It supports several Prusa printers and the Bambu Lab A1, so SimplyPrint can keep the queue running unattended across a mixed fleet. This guide covers what JobOx does, how to select it as your AutoPrint clearing method, and the plate-limit setting it needs.

JobOx runs as a clearing method inside AutoPrint, which is part of the Pro plan and up.

What JobOx is

JobOx is a plate-swap mod made by JobOx. According to JobOx, when a print finishes it ejects the current plate and slides a fresh one into place, so the printer keeps going without anyone removing the finished part. Paired with AutoPrint, it lets a supported printer work through a stack of plates on its own.

JobOx supports several printers, each with its own clearing variant in SimplyPrint:

  • Prusa MK3(S/+)
  • Prusa MK4(S)
  • Prusa Mini
  • Bambu Lab A1

Selecting JobOx on a printer

You set a clearing method per printer, from the AutoPrint settings.

  1. Open the printer's control panel and find the AutoPrint widget.
  2. Open the AutoPrint settings and find the Clearing method section.
  3. Click the method selector and choose JobOx Mod.
  4. In the variant dropdown, pick the entry that matches your printer (MK3, MK4, Mini, or Bambu Lab A1). The clearing sequence is different per printer, so this matters.
  5. Set a Max AutoPrint cycles value to match your plate stack (see below), then save.
  6. Flip the AutoPrint switch on for the printer.

You can view the JobOx clearing gcode under the gcode editor and adjust it if your setup needs it. Always match the variant to the printer the plate-swapper is actually installed on.

Set a max cycle count

JobOx works through a finite stack of plates, so SimplyPrint asks you to set a Max AutoPrint cycles value. This is how many prints (plate swaps) the printer runs before it stops and waits for you to reload plates. The default suggestion is 3 cycles, but set it to the number of plates your stack actually holds.

What SimplyPrint does each cycle

With JobOx selected, each AutoPrint cycle runs like this:

  1. The print finishes and SimplyPrint detects the completed state.
  2. The bed cools to the temperature (or for the time) you set, so the part releases from the plate.
  3. SimplyPrint runs the JobOx clearing sequence for your printer variant, ejecting the finished plate and loading a fresh one.
  4. SimplyPrint verifies the bed is clear. With a camera connected, AI bed check can confirm visually before continuing.
  5. SimplyPrint matches the next queue item and starts it, until the max-cycle count is reached.

For how matching, scheduling and verification work in detail, see the AutoPrint overview.
