The Printflow3D clearing method for AutoPrint
The Printflow3D clearing method for AutoPrint
Printflow3D is an automatic plate-changer for the Bambu Lab A1 Mini. Like other plate-swappers, it switches the whole print plate for a fresh one between prints, so SimplyPrint can keep the queue running unattended. This guide covers what Printflow3D does, how to select it as your AutoPrint clearing method, and the plate-limit setting it needs.
What Printflow3D is
Printflow3D is a plate-changer mod for the Bambu Lab A1 Mini. According to Printflow3D, when a print finishes it ejects the current plate and grabs a fresh one, so the printer keeps going without anyone removing the finished part. Paired with AutoPrint, that lets the A1 Mini work through a stack of plates on its own.
Selecting Printflow3D on a printer
You set a clearing method per printer, from the AutoPrint settings.
- Open the printer's control panel and find the AutoPrint widget.
- Open the AutoPrint settings and find the Clearing method section.
- Click the method selector and choose Printflow3D.
- Set a Max AutoPrint cycles value to match your plate stack (see below), then save.
- Flip the AutoPrint switch on for the printer.
Set a max cycle count
Printflow3D works through a finite stack of plates, so SimplyPrint asks you to set a Max AutoPrint cycles value. This is how many prints (plate changes) the printer runs before it stops and waits for you to reload plates. Set it to the number of plates your stack holds, so AutoPrint never tries to load a plate that is not there.
What SimplyPrint does each cycle
With Printflow3D selected, each AutoPrint cycle runs like this:
- The print finishes and SimplyPrint detects the completed state.
- The bed cools to the temperature (or for the time) you set, so the part releases from the plate.
- SimplyPrint runs the Printflow3D clearing sequence, ejecting the finished plate and loading a fresh one.
- SimplyPrint verifies the bed is clear. With a camera connected, AI bed check can confirm visually before continuing.
- SimplyPrint matches the next queue item and starts it, until the max-cycle count is reached.
For how matching, scheduling and verification work in detail, see the AutoPrint overview.
