Organization slicer defaults and policies

Organization slicer settings let admins choose sensible defaults for everyone in the account. These defaults help users start with the right engine, printer, material, nozzle, bed, and slicer UI settings.

Organization slicer defaults in settings

Open slicer settings

  1. Go to Settings > Slicing.
  2. Open General slicer settings for profile and engine defaults.
  3. Open Slicer UI settings for appearance, language, import behavior, and auto-rotate behavior.

You need permission to manage slicer organization settings.

General defaults

Admins can configure defaults such as:

  • Default slicer engine
  • Per-printer-model default slicer engine
  • Default nozzle size
  • Default nozzle volume type
  • Default material profile
  • Default printer or printer model selection
  • Default slicer settings mode per engine
  • Default printer bed selection per printer model and engine

These defaults are applied when users open the Cloud Slicer, unless a more specific printer, model, or favorite selection takes priority.

Slicer UI defaults

The UI settings tab controls default interface behavior such as:

  • Show ruler
  • Show origin
  • Show axes
  • Show volume
  • Slicer language
  • Reverse zoom
  • Auto-arrange on import
  • Auto-rotate behavior

Auto-rotate behavior is only available when the account has the auto-rotate feature.

Personal UI settings

In some multi-user accounts, users can have personal slicer UI settings.

When both organization settings and personal settings are available, the slicer settings modal shows separate tabs for personal UI settings and organization slicer settings.

Profile defaults and favorites

Some selectors allow admins with slicer organization settings permission to star default combinations, such as a default machine, default material profile, default print profile, nozzle size, or nozzle volume type.

These favorites help Cloud Slicer pick the expected profile when a matching printer and engine are selected.
