Customise your sidebar: reorder, hide items and set your home page

Account admins can reshape the panel's left sidebar for everyone in the account. Change the order of items, hide the ones you don't use, group them with separators, and set which page your team lands on when they sign in. This guide covers who can do it and how.

Sidebar customisation is part of the Print Farm plan, and it's included on the School and Enterprise plans too. On other plans you'll see a locked preview so you can see how it works before deciding to upgrade.

Who can customise the sidebar

Sidebar customisation is an account-wide setting, so it's limited to account admins (anyone with the administrate permission). Whatever you set applies to everyone in the account, not just you, and there's no separate per-person version. Members without admin rights won't see the editor at all.

It's purely a navigation preference. Reordering or hiding items never changes anyone's permissions or what they're allowed to do.

Open the sidebar editor

  1. Go to Settings in the sidebar, then open the General tab.
  2. Scroll to Sidebar & navigation.
  3. You'll see the full list of sidebar items, ready to rearrange.

Your changes save automatically as you go, so there's no separate save button to press.

Reorder items

Drag any item by the grip handle on its left to move it up or down. The order you set here is the order everyone in the account sees.

Hide items you don't use

Every item has a checkbox. Untick it to hide that item from the sidebar, and tick it again to bring it back. Hidden items stay in the editor (shown faded) so you can always re-enable them later.

Hiding an item only removes it from the sidebar. The feature itself keeps working everywhere else. If you hide the Filament item, for example, you and your team can still pick a filament spool when starting a print and open filament links from other pages - you just won't see Filament in the sidebar. Hiding is about tidying navigation, nothing more.

Group items with separators

Click Add separator to drop a divider into the list, then drag it wherever you want. Separators add a little space and a line between groups of items, which helps when you have a long sidebar and want to cluster related areas together. Remove a separator with the small x on its row.

Set your account's home page

This is the setting to change if you want your team to land somewhere other than the default page when they sign in.

The first visible item in the list is your account's home page - the page everyone opens to when they sign in. Whatever sits at the top of the list, and isn't hidden, wins. It's marked with a Home badge in the editor, so you can always see which page that is at a glance.

To change where your team lands:

  • Drag the item you want to the top of the list to make it the home page. For example, move Dashboard to the top so everyone starts on the dashboard.
  • Or hide the current top item, and the next visible item below it becomes the home page instead.

If your account uses custom dashboards, this is a great way to put a purpose-built dashboard front and centre: build the dashboard, drag it to the top of the sidebar, and it becomes everyone's landing page. See the custom dashboards guide linked below.

Settings can't be hidden

You can move Settings anywhere in the list, but you can't hide it. It carries an Always shown badge and its checkbox is locked on. That's deliberate: Settings is how you (and any future admin) get back to this editor, so it always stays reachable.

What people see if they open a hidden page

Hiding an item from the sidebar doesn't block the page. People can still reach it through links, search or a saved URL. If someone opens a page whose sidebar item you've hidden, that item reappears at the top of their sidebar as a faded "ghost" entry with a question-mark icon next to it.

Clicking the question mark explains what happened: the page has been hidden from the sidebar in the account's settings, the feature still works, and an admin can bring it back. The same message has a shortcut straight to Settings, so an admin can re-enable the item in a couple of clicks if they want to.

Start over

Made a mess? The Reset button at the top of the editor clears your customisations and restores the default sidebar, the standard order with nothing hidden.
