How your SimplyPrint trial works (and how to get it reset)

When you sign up for SimplyPrint you automatically start a free trial that unlocks all of our paid features, so you can try everything before deciding what you need. This guide explains how the trial works, how to change which plan you're trying, what happens when it ends, and how to get a fresh trial later.

You start a trial automatically

Every new account starts a trial - there's nothing to opt into, and no card required. By default it runs for 14 days (the day you sign up counts as day one), and it can be longer with some promotions, referral rewards or affiliate links.

During the trial you get full access to the paid features, so you can set up your printers, run the queue, use AutoPrint, the slicer, filament tools and everything else, and see what fits how you work.

Which plan are you trying?

The plan you're trying is based on what you told us at sign-up. If you said you're a hobbyist, you start on a Pro plan trial (the default). If you said you run a print farm, you start on a Print Farm trial, and so on.

You're not locked into that choice. During the trial you can switch which plan you're trying - Free, Basic, Pro, Print Farm, Cloud Slicer, Filament Manager, School or Enterprise - so you can test the exact tier you're considering.

The School plan is a quote-based account type. While you're trying the School plan you can't switch down to another plan - reach out if you'd like to compare School against another tier.

What happens when the trial ends

When your trial finishes, your account moves to the plan you chose to continue on (the free plan by default). You keep everything the free plan includes, and nothing is deleted.

Any feature that belongs to a paid plan will show a small banner telling you which plan it's part of, with the option to upgrade. If you decide you don't want to pay for that tier, you can simply avoid using those paid-only features - the rest of SimplyPrint keeps working.

Tip: if you already know you'll stay on the free plan, it's worth noticing during the trial which features show that "part of the X plan" banner, so there are no surprises when the trial ends.

Didn't get to use your trial? We'll reset it

Life happens - maybe your printer wasn't supported yet, your hardware hadn't arrived, or you simply didn't get a chance to try things properly. If that's you, just reach out in the live chat and we're usually happy to reset your trial so you get a real, fair chance to test once you're set up. There's no need to rush your trial while you wait.

Resetting your trial yourself later

We're always adding new features, and you shouldn't have to sign up again to try them. If you're not on a paid plan and it's been at least a year since your last trial, you can start a fresh trial to explore what's new. Eligible accounts see a reset-trial option in the panel, and you can always ask us in the chat if you're not sure whether you're eligible yet.
