The student discount: 40% off Pro for verified students
The student discount: 40% off Pro for verified students
If you're a student at an accredited school, college, or university, you can get 40% off a SimplyPrint Basic or Pro subscription for a full year. Verification takes a couple of minutes, runs on your school-issued email, and the discount is applied to your account automatically — no coupon codes, no waiting for someone to review your request.
This guide explains how the program works, what you actually get, and links out to detailed walkthroughs for each step.

What you get
There are two discount tiers, both running for 12 months and renewable while you are still a student:
- 40% off Basic or Pro for 12 months. The standard discount for any verified student whose school is recognised by our verification system.
- 60% off Basic or Pro for 12 months. A bigger discount that kicks in automatically if your school already uses SimplyPrint as a customer. You do not need to do anything different — if the system recognises your school's email domain as one already on a paid SimplyPrint account, you get the larger discount on submit.
The discount is applied straight to your existing subscription or kicks in when you start your trial. There is no coupon code to type and no manual paperwork.
Who is eligible
The discount is for individual students, not for institutions. To qualify you need to be all four of:
- A currently enrolled student at an accredited educational institution (secondary, vocational, undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate).
- The holder of a school-issued email address ending in your institution's domain, for example yourname@university.edu.
- Subscribing to the Basic or Pro plan on a personal account (not on a Print Farm, School or Enterprise plan).
- Not already on a sponsored or partner account.
Teachers, school administrators, IT staff and anyone using SimplyPrint at work are not eligible for this program. If you run 3D printing for a school or university lab, the right path is the School plan instead — see the comparison article at the bottom of this page.
How verification works in 3 steps
The whole flow lives at simplyprint.io/panel/settings/subscription on the subscription settings page. The eligibility card sits at the bottom and walks you through:
- Enter your school-issued email. We check the domain against our list of recognised educational institutions. If it is on the list, you can continue to step 2.
- Confirm your academic info. You tell us the school name, country, your role (student) and your academic level. A short optional survey asks whether your school has 3D printers — you can skip it or share with your teacher to let them know SimplyPrint exists.
- Click the link in the email we send you. The link confirms you actually own the academic email. Once you click it, the discount is applied automatically.

What if my school is not in the database
If our verification system does not recognise your school's email domain, you (or anyone — a classmate, a teacher, an IT admin) can add your school to the community list of educational institutions. SimplyPrint uses an open, community-maintained list of school email domains to verify student status automatically, and no SimplyPrint account or programming knowledge is required to submit a school.
Full instructions: How to add your school to the student-discount verification list.
We do not manually approve individual student verifications — the database lookup is the gate. Adding your school's domain to the community list unlocks verification for every student at that school going forward, so it is worth the effort.
Bigger discount if your school already uses SimplyPrint
If your school runs a paid SimplyPrint account (for example, a maker lab or computer science department has a School plan with you on it), you automatically get the larger 60% discount on your personal subscription instead of the standard 40%. The system detects this from your verified email domain — no special form, no different button.
After verification, if your school is already a SimplyPrint customer, the panel also suggests asking your teacher to add you to their account so you get the full classroom feature set alongside your personal discount.
Duration and re-verification
The discount lasts 12 months from the date you verify. About 30 days before it expires, the panel shows a "re-verify your student status" button on the same eligibility card you used the first time. Re-verification is the same flow as the first verification: enter your school email again, confirm, click the link.
You can re-verify up to 5 times total, which means the discount can run for up to 5 years if you stay a student. After that, the program ends and you move to standard pricing.

Bringing friends in
If you know other students who would benefit from SimplyPrint, the refer a friend program gives you invoice credit every time someone signs up through your link and starts paying. The credit stacks with the student discount on your own account — you save 40% (or 60%) on your subscription, and earn credit on top of that for every paying friend you bring in.
If you run a YouTube channel, a maker blog, or any kind of audience in the 3D printing space, the affiliate program pays cash commission via PayPal instead — a better fit when you can send us real volume.
