Welcome to SimplyPrint: what it does and how to get started
Welcome. SimplyPrint is a platform for managing and monitoring 3D printers from anywhere - one place for your printers, your files, a cloud slicer, your filament, and everything in between. It works with 600+ printer models across 130+ brands, on the web and in the mobile app, and it scales from a single printer on your desk to a farm of hundreds, a school lab, or a whole organisation.
This article is the front door. It explains what SimplyPrint does, walks you through your first steps, and points you to the right guide for whatever you want to do next. You do not have to use all of it - SimplyPrint adapts to how you work, and most of what it offers is optional.

What you can do with SimplyPrint
At a high level, SimplyPrint gives you:
- Remote monitoring and control - see every printer's live status and camera, start and stop prints, and get notified when something finishes or fails, from anywhere.
- A cloud slicer - slice 3D models right in your browser (or on a tablet or phone), no install needed, running familiar engines like OrcaSlicer and PrusaSlicer.
- A filament manager - track your spools, locations, weights and labels, with NFC and barcode support.
- A print queue and automation - line jobs up and let SimplyPrint match each one to a free printer, batch-start with 1-Click Print, or run hands-off with AutoPrint.
- AI failure detection - SimplyPrint watches the camera feed in the cloud and can spot spaghetti, warping and blobbing, and automatically pause or cancel a failing print for you (auto pause and cancel are available on the Basic plan and up).
- Tools for teams - users, permissions, quotas, single sign-on, maintenance tracking and more, for farms, schools and enterprises.
The basics - connecting printers, printing, slicing and filament tracking - work on every plan, including the Free plan (which includes two printers and monthly cloud slicing at no cost).
Your first steps
No matter what you want to use SimplyPrint for, the start is the same.
- Create your account at simplyprint.io and sign in. You land in the panel.
- Connect a printer (unless you only want the slicer or filament tracking). The setup guide shows the exact method for your printer. For many printers, including Bambu Lab, that is the SimplyPrint Client - a small bridge app you run on an always-on computer or Raspberry Pi on the same network.
- Start your first print. Once a printer is online, there are several ways to print - by hand on one printer, batched across many, or fully automated. See how to start a print in SimplyPrint.
Get to know the panel
The panel is where everything lives: Printers, Files, the Slicer, the print queue, Filament, users and settings. If you want a guided map of every area and what it does, read the SimplyPrint panel: a tour of every area.
Find the way you'll work
SimplyPrint is feature-rich on purpose, but you do not have to use everything, and the workflow that fits a hobbyist with two printers is very different from the one that fits a 200-printer farm. Once you are set up, the workflow guides show you how people like you actually run SimplyPrint, the choices and trade-offs, and how a workflow grows over time:
- SimplyPrint workflows: set it up for the way you work - the hub that routes you to the workflow built for your situation.
- Hobbyist workflows - one or a few printers.
- Print farm workflows - production at scale.
- School and makerspace workflows - teaching with shared printers.
- Enterprise workflows - running it at scale with governance.
Just here for one tool?
You do not have to adopt the whole platform. SimplyPrint works as a single tool too:
- Just want to slice? Use the cloud slicer with no printer connected. See the slicer-only workflow.
- Just want to track filament? Run the filament manager as a standalone inventory. See filament tracking workflows.

Take it with you: the mobile app
SimplyPrint is on your phone too. The mobile app for iOS and Android lets you watch prints and cameras, start and stop them, manage the queue, slice, and get push notifications when a print finishes or needs attention. See SimplyPrint on your phone: the mobile app.

Where to get help
This helpdesk is the place to start - search it for whatever you are trying to do, and the in-app chat can answer most questions instantly. Beyond that:
- Have an idea or a feature request? Post it in the suggestion box and vote on what we build next.
- Want to chat with other users? Join the SimplyPrint Discord - an active community of hobbyists, farms and makers.
- Not sure which plan fits you? See can't find a SimplyPrint plan that fits you? and the pricing page.
