Tracking referrals and unlocking rewards
Tracking referrals and unlocking rewards
The refer a friend page shows two things side by side: how many people have signed up through your link, and which rewards you've unlocked along the way. This article walks through both, including the full reward ladder with the actual amounts.
For the program overview, see The refer a friend program: earn credit for every signup.

The hero stats row
At the top of the page is a row of stat boxes that summarise your program activity:
![]()
- Referred accounts - total signups that used your link or code, including ones that haven't paid yet.
- Unique link visits - people who clicked your link. Includes everyone, not just signups.
- Rewards unlocked - "X / Y unlocked" showing how many of the reward tiers you've already triggered.
- Money saved on own subscription - total credit that's been applied (or is queued to apply) to your invoices.
These numbers refresh automatically when you load the page. Approved affiliates also see extra boxes for converted accounts, average time to signup, and average time to first purchase.
What counts as a referred account
Two different counters live on the page and it's worth understanding the difference:
- The Referred accounts stat counts every signup that came through your link, including free accounts that haven't done anything yet.
- The rewards ladder only counts referrals that pass a minimum bar: the account must have at least one printer added to count toward unlocking a reward.
Once a referred account adds a printer, it counts toward the reward tier immediately. They don't need to subscribe first for the printer-count threshold, but credit rewards specifically require the account to have a paying subscription.
The reward ladder
The full reward ladder is fixed and the same for every account. It's shown on the page below the stats row, with a checkmark next to tiers you've already unlocked.

The amounts here come straight from SimplyPrint's reward configuration:
Referred accounts (with a printer) | Reward |
|---|---|
1 | $5 / £5 / €5 / $7.75 AUD / $7.75 CAD / 30 DKK credit |
2 | $2 / £2 / €2 / $3 AUD / $3 CAD / 12 DKK credit |
2 | 1 free extra GB of file storage |
6 | 1 free extra printer slot |
8 | 2 free extra GB of file storage |
10 | $25 / £20 / €25 / $35 AUD / $35 CAD / 175 DKK credit |
20 | $25 / £20 / €25 / $35 AUD / $35 CAD / 175 DKK credit |
25 | 1 free extra printer slot |
50 | $50 / £40 / €50 / $70 AUD / $70 CAD / 350 DKK credit |
The 2-referral credit reward is repeatable: you get it again each time you refer two new paying accounts, on top of the one-time tier rewards.
Currency: which rate do you get
The reward amount you receive is based on your account's currency, not the referred account's currency. The full set of currencies SimplyPrint pays out in is USD, GBP, EUR, AUD, CAD, and DKK. The numbers in the table above show each conversion at the same tier.
If your billing currency changes, future rewards use the new currency. Rewards that have already been issued keep their original currency.
Reward emails
When you unlock a reward, SimplyPrint sends you an email to tell you about it. The email names the tier, the amount, and when the credit becomes available for use against an invoice. You'll see a matching entry appear in the balances table on the refer a friend page.
If you don't see the email, check the user menu at the top right of the panel and confirm your email address is correct, then check your spam folder.
What happens when a reward unlocks
The mechanics depend on the reward type:
- Credit rewards create a balance entry on your account. The entry has an amount, a currency, and an "available after" date. From that date onward it's eligible to offset your next invoice.
- Extra GB and extra printer slots are applied to your subscription immediately. You'll see your storage / printer cap go up the next time you reload the panel.
The credit balance doesn't expire and isn't lost if you change plans. It just sits on your account until an invoice is generated, then gets subtracted automatically.
